On Friday, June 13, 2025, Sheriff's Homicide investigators were notified of Ms. Bagby's passing while in custody at LCDRF.

On June 13, 2025, at around 4:25 p.m., Sheriff's Deputies at the LCDRF were serving dinner when they discovered Ms. Bagby unresponsive inside her cell. Upon observing the situation, the deputies immediately activated 9-1-1, requested assistance from the facility's medical staff and began CPR.

The Medical Examiner's Office has completed an autopsy of Ms. Bagby and determined the cause of death was complications of dilated cardiomyopathy, with congestive mild hepatomegaly and splenomegaly, a history of chronic alcoholism and morbid obesity cited as contributing factors. The manner of death was classified as natural.
