Criminal Threats, Threats against a Peace Officer, False Bomb Threat, Report of False Public Emergency
December 23, 2025 – Ventura County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on December 5, 2025, at approximately
2:46 p.m., Ventura County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to a report that (S) Michael Weisman made threats to harm himself and others. Prior to deputies’ arrival, Weisman fled the location in his vehicle.
Deputies contacted family members at the scene and learned Weisman had threatened to kill his parents and responding deputies by striking them with his vehicle. Weisman also made threats to use his vehicle to harm innocent civilians and issued a bomb threat against a Thousand Oaks business that was open and occupied at the time.
Due to the seriousness of the threats, the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office notified the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Lost Hills Station, which is in close proximity to Weisman’s residence. Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office responded to the business named in the threat to provide security for the establishment and its patrons, who were instructed to shelter in place.
Weisman was located at a shopping center in the Agoura area by deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and detained. Deputies from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office took custody of Weisman and arrested him for making threats towards deputies and the business in Thousand Oaks. Weisman was booked into the Pre-Trial Detention Facility in Ventura and later posted bail.
The case was presented to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office, which filed the following charges:
Three counts of Criminal Threats, in violation of Penal Code section 422
Two counts of Elder Abuse, in violation of Penal Code section 368(c)
Two counts of Threatening a Peace Officer with Great Bodily Injury or Death, in violation of Penal Code section 69(a)
One count of False Bomb Threat, in violation of Penal Code section 148.1(c)
One count of False Report of an Emergency, in violation of Penal Code section 148.3(a)
