Homicide Investigators Determine Case a Murder/Suicide after Two People were Found Deceased in a Home in Adelanto 

December 23, 2025 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Saturday, December 20, 2025, at about 9:40 p.m., deputies from the Victor Valley Station were dispatched to a medical aid call at a residence on Bonanza Road, in Adelanto.   When deputies arrived, they found Tyreek Moore and Shyla Powell inside the residence, each suffering from a gunshot wound.  Medical aid also responded and pronounced the two deceased.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation.  Detectives learned Moore and Powell were involved in a verbal altercation and later in the day both subjects were found deceased in the home.  Investigators located a firearm near the male and through investigation, the incident was determined to be a murder/suicide.  Both decedents were transported to the Coroner’s Office.
