December 24, 2025 – San Diego Police Department officials report that a loaded illegal ghost gun. Narcotics packaged for sale. And a burglary suspect taken into custody.

After weeks of investigative work by our detectives, and using ALPR technology, our officers identified a vehicle linked to multiple recent commercial burglaries in the Sorrento Valley area.

Early Sunday morning, officers on patrol in Sorrento Valley located the car and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver chose not to stop, crashed the vehicle, and fled on foot before being taken into custody in the Carmel Valley area.

Inside the car, officers recovered property tied to the burglaries, a large amount of narcotics, and a loaded AR-15 style ghost gun with a suppressor. The suspect is a convicted felon and was out on bail at the time of his arrest.

Drugs off the street. A dangerous firearm off the street. One less burglary suspect targeting our community.
