Fatal Traffic Collision
December 29, 2025 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 1:24 a.m.,
deputies from the San Jacinto Sheriff’s Station responded to the intersection of Mountain Avenue and Old Mountain Avenue, San Jacinto, regarding an unresponsive subject in the roadway. Deputies arrived and located an adult male in the intersection and performed lifesaving measures, but the male was ultimately pronounced deceased at the scene. An unoccupied vehicle was located approximately 200’ away with major collision damage.
The San Jacinto Traffic Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. The preliminary investigation determined the vehicle was northbound on Mountain Avenue at a high rate of speed. The driver lost control and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle ultimately came to a stop on the other side of the roadway. No other vehicles were involved, and the investigation remains ongoing. No further information will be released.
The collision investigation required the temporary closure of Mountain Avenue between 7th Street and Esplanade Avenue.
