Fatal Traffic Collision 

January 1, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 6:20 p.m., deputies from riverside county sheriff logothe Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station responded to the intersection of Alessandro Boulevard and Frederick Street regarding a major injury traffic collision involving two vehicles. Upon arrival, deputies located two vehicles with major damage and both drivers trapped inside their vehicles. Both drivers, and sole occupants, were transported to a local hospital with major injuries. One of the drivers, identified as 37-year-old Yoseph Asfaw, a resident of Moreno Valley, was later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The Moreno Valley Sheriff's Station Traffic Collision Reconstruction Team responded and assumed the investigation. It was determined that the second driver, identified as 42-year-old Misty Britan, a resident of Perris, was driving under the influence. After consultation with the Riverside County District Attorney's Office, Britan was arrested and will ultimately be booked and charged with vehicular homicide.
