Homicide 

January 1, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 7:38 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to a business located at the 22000 block of Town Circle, in the city of Moreno Valley, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located a 16-year-old male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving measures, the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time; however, investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) involved. Due to the ongoing investigation, the victim’s identity will not be released, and no further information is available.
