Hit-and-Run Leaves Pedestrian Severely Injured
February 4, 2026 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that the Central Traffic
Division detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run collision that severely injured a man in his 60’s.
On December 29, 2025, around 1:50 a.m., a black Honda sedan was traveling northbound Bonnie Brae Street near 6th Street when it veered to the right and collided into a parked vehicle. That collision caused the parked vehicle to crash into the victim, who was standing next to it. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, render aid, and remain at scene as required by law and fled northbound on Bonnie Brae Street.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the victim to a local hospital where he was treated for severe injuries.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
