Suspicious Person in Unincorporated El Cajon
February 14, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that the Lakeside Sheriff's Substation is investigating a report
of a suspicious person following a student walking home from school.
On February 12, at about 2:00 p.m., an 8-year-old boy was walking home from Magnolia Elementary School when an unknown male driving a white, unknown make and model pick-up truck stopped alongside the boy at Greenfield Avenue and Greenfield Access Road in the unincorporated area of El Cajon.
The male stopped momentarily and told the boy to get in the car. The boy ran away from the vehicle, which then drove away. A woman witnessed the incident and, believing it suspicious, waited with the boy until his mother arrived. The male was described as White, in his late 30s, with a bald head, muscular build, and tattoos.
This incident was reported to the Sheriff's Office the morning of February 13. The case has been assigned to a Sheriff's Detective, and the investigation is ongoing.
