Attempt to Identify Battery/Criminal Threat Hate Crime Suspects
February 14, 2026 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that detectives continue to investigate a case from February 16, 2024, and are still working to identify the suspects involved. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Major Crimes Division is asking for the public’s assistance to identify four suspects responsible for attacking three victims.
On September 29, 2023, around 2:26 p.m., three Turkish Consulate members walked through the USC campus at Downey Way and Watt Way after a planned event. The suspects, who were part of a group of protestors, approached the victims, yelled derogatory statements and physically attacked them. The suspects pushed, punched, kicked, and threw water at the victims. The suspects then fled the area and the victims fled to safety.
Investigators are asking anyone with information related to this incident to contact detectives from LAPD’s Major Crimes Division at (213) 486-6270.
