February 24, 2026 – Yuba City Police Department officials report that last Wednesday, they executed a search warrant at a home in the 3000 block of Butte House Road after receiving several citizen complaints about an illegal indoor marijuana grow operation. Homeless Liaison Officer Cornwell took the lead on the investigation.

The warrant was served with help from the YCPD Investigative Unit and NET-5 (Yuba-Sutter Narcotics Enforcement Team). When officers served the warrant, they uncovered a surprisingly complex setup spread across three shops on the property. In total, they located and seized 1,725 marijuana plants with a net weight of 640 pounds.

Two Yuba City residents, 59-year-old Aiyung Hu and 59-year-old Wenhua Xiao, were cited under California Health & Safety Code 11358(c) for illegal cultivation and released.
