Stolen Plate Leads to Drug Bust 

February 25, 2026 – Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office officials report that last week, Flock license plate readers in City of Cupertino alerted deputies to a stolen plate from a Tesla mounted on the back of a pickup truck.

West Valley Patrol deputies quickly located the truck in a grocery store parking lot on Homestead Road and detained the driver.

Inside the truck deputies discovered large amounts of drugs, including fentanyl and methamphetamine.

The suspect was booked on charges of possessing stolen property and several drug-related offenses.
