February 26, 2026 – North Hollywood, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that detectives with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division are investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that severely injured a man in his 60s.
On January 24, 2026, around 9:22 p.m., a pedestrian was walking northbound across Bellaire Avenue within a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a white 2017–2019 Nissan Rogue Sport traveling westbound on Sherman Way. The impact caused the pedestrian to be thrown into the air and collide with the roadway. The driver failed to stop, identify themselves, and render aid as required by law, and continued westbound on Sherman Way.
Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and transported the pedestrian to a local hospital, where he was treated for severe injuries.
Valley Traffic Division detectives determined the suspect vehicle exited a shopping center located at 12650 Sherman Way prior to the collision. The vehicle may have visible damage to the front hood or fender area as a result of the crash.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members that provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
