March 1, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff's Office officials report that on Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:16 p.m., the Colorado River Sheriff’s Station Special Enforcement Team (SET), received information of a stolen vehicle traveling along Highway 95. SET deputies located a vehicle matching the description traveling southbound Highway 95 near 8th Avenue, in Blythe. Deputies attempted to stop the vehicle, at which time the vehicle sped away and vehicle pursuit was initiated.
The vehicle entered I-10 and traveled into Arizona then exited Exit 1. The vehicle continued on dirt roads near the Colorado River at Frontage Road and Oxbow Road. As deputies attempted to make a U-turn to change direction, the suspect rear-ended the deputy’s patrol vehicle and continued eastbound along Frontage Road.
The vehicle traveled along Frontage Road towards Ehrenberg-Cibola Road, where it became disabled and came to a stop. The suspect, identified as Justin Jellerson, a 43-year-old resident of Kingman, Arizona, was taken into custody without further incident. Jellerson was booked into the Blythe Jail for possession of a stolen vehicle, felony evading, assault on a peace officer, and possession of a controlled substance. Neither the deputy involved in the collision nor the suspect were injured.
