March 8, 2026 – Sutter County Sheriff's Office officials report that recent coordinated efforts by patrol personnel on both A and B night shifts resulted in multiple arrests and the recovery of illegal firearms, highlighting the department’s continued commitment to proactive enforcement and community safety.
B-Nights:
Earlier this week, officers developed probable cause to believe a male subject on active parole was unlawfully possessing a firearm. A coordinated enforcement plan was implemented to ensure public and officer safety. The suspect later departed a residence in a Cadillac SUV and traveled southbound on Highway 99, where officers conducted a high-risk (felony) traffic stop north of Lomo. The driver was safely detained without incident.
A search of the vehicle located a grey duffle bag containing a sawed-off, pistol-grip, pump-action shotgun and ammunition. The firearm’s serial numbers appeared to have been intentionally altered, though a partial serial number remained legible. The subject was booked into the Sutter County Jail on multiple firearms-related charges and parole violations.
A-Nights:
Last night, deputies responded to a report of a possible domestic violence situation after a concerned family member reported receiving a distressing phone call before it abruptly disconnected. Deputies immediately began coordinated efforts to locate the involved parties.
During the early morning hours, deputies located a vehicle associated with the involved male subject in a residential neighborhood. During the contact, deputies observed evidence of a firearm inside the vehicle. The occupants were safely removed from the vehicle while deputies secured the scene.
Deputies recovered a handgun without a serial number and narcotics from inside the vehicle. The driver showed signs of impairment and was later determined to be legally prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior convictions. The male driver was arrested and booked into the Sutter County Jail on multiple charges including narcotics possession, DUI-related offenses, and firearms violations.
Both incidents demonstrate the proactive patrol work conducted by deputies across night shifts and their dedication to keeping the community safe. Through coordinated teamwork, deputies safely resolved these incidents and removed illegal firearms from the streets.
Great job to both night shifts!!
