Hit-and-Run Leaves One Person Severely Injured
March 11, 2026 – Brentwood, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that detectives from the West Traffic Division are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a driver connected to a severe injury hit-and-run.
On January 19, 2026, around 12:34 a.m., a black Toyota Prius was traveling southbound on Bringham Avenue when it collided with a male pedestrian who was sitting in the southbound lanes of Bringham Avenue north of Gorham Avenue. The driver failed to stop, identify themselves, or render aid, as required by law. The vehicle continued southbound on Bringham Avenue toward San Vicente Boulevard.
Los Angeles Fire Department personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The investigation is ongoing.
Motorists are reminded that if they are involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves. Pedestrians are also reminded to use caution on the roadway and not to pose a hazard to oncoming vehicles.
On April 15, 2015, the City Council amended the Los Angeles Administrative Code and created a Hit-and-Run Reward Program Trust Fund. A reward of up to $25,000 is available to community members who provide information leading to the offender’s identification, apprehension, and conviction or resolution through a civil compromise.
