Vehicle Check in Twentynine Palms Leads to the Discovery of Murdered Woman; Suspect Arrested
March 16, 2026 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Friday, March 13, 2026, at approximately 8:03
a.m., deputies responded to the 6500 block of Adobe Road for a vehicle check. A Toyota Tacoma was parked at the location, blocking a gate at the fire department.
During their investigation, deputies were led to a residence in the 74900 block of Aladdin Drive in Twentynine Palms. At the property, deputies located two unsupervised children inside the main residence. Deputies conducted a search of the home and discovered the children’s mother, Jessica Phillips, deceased inside the garage.
The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail responded to the scene and assumed the investigation.
At approximately 10:40 a.m., deputies located the children’s father, Isaac Matthew Angel, walking near the intersection of Sunrise Drive and Araby Avenue. Through the course of the investigation, detectives determined Angel was responsible for Phillips’ death, and he was arrested for murder. He remains in custody without bail.
