Homicide Investigation 

March 19, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 2:47 p.m., deputies from the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station responded to a local hospital in Moreno Valley, regarding a subject dropped off by a family member suffering from injuries consistent with an assault. Upon arrival, deputies were informed by medical staff the subject had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The victim was identified as Sean Street, a 38-year-old resident of Moreno Valley.

Deputies spoke with witnesses and determined Street had been assaulted in the 14000 block of Big Horn Avenue in Moreno Valley by 37-year-old Brandon Thigpen, also a resident of Moreno Valley. Deputies responded to Big Horn Avenue and secured the scene. Deputies continued their search for Thigpen, and he was later located in Moreno Valley where he was taken into custody without incident. The Central Homicide Unit was contacted and responded to assume the investigation.

Thigpen was ultimately booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center, in Riverside, for murder. This investigation is ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
