April 3, 2026 – San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department officials report that on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at about 9:05 p.m., deputies responded to the 11700 block of Chamberlaine Way, in Adelanto, after Sheriff’s Dispatch received multiple reports from residents who heard shots fired.  When deputies arrived, they located a male subject, Angelo Chaparro, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.  Chaparro was transported to a hospital where he later died.  

At about the same time, deputies responded to a medical aid call in the 10400 block of Cimmeron Trail Drive and located a second gunshot victim, identified as Elias Alonso, in a driveway.  Alonso was transported to the hospital and was also pronounced deceased.  

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail also responded and assumed the investigation.  Detectives believe the incidents are related and are investigating this as one case.
