Gun Safety Event - San Marcos
April 6, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials announce that they are partnering with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, Escondido Police Department, Carlsbad Police Department, Oceanside Police Department, University Police Department at Cal State San Marcos and Palomar College Police Department to get unwanted guns off our streets.
Join us for a Gun Safety Event on:
Saturday, April 18
8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
San Marcos Sheriff's Station
182 Santar Place, San Marcos
Turn in your unwanted gun and receive a gift card ($100 for handguns, rifles and shotguns and $200 for assault weapons and ghost guns). Remain anonymous. No questions asked.
Free firearm lock boxes and trigger locks will also be available while supplies last.
Firearms must be in working order.
Place the unloaded firearm in the trunk of your vehicle.
A deputy or officer will provide instructions.
All weapons collected will be destroyed.
