Stabbings in Imperial Beach 

April 16, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Saturday, April 11, deputies from the Imperial san diego county sheriff department logoBeach Sheriff's Substation responded to two separate stabbing incidents within the City of Imperial Beach. One incident happened during a fight involving several individuals. The second happened during a robbery at a liquor store. Both victims were men who suffered non-life-threatening injuries. They have since been released from the hospital.

Despite an extensive search of the surrounding areas, the suspects in both cases were not located. Sheriff’s Detectives obtained descriptions of three suspects and developed several investigative leads. Detectives also developed information suggesting the suspects may have gang affiliations. At this time, both cases remain under active investigation.

On Tuesday, April 14, just before 9:30 p.m., deputies responded to a reported fight involving three individuals in the 900 block of Seacoast Drive. Upon arrival, deputies located a man suffering from injuries consistent with an apparent stabbing. Medical personnel were immediately requested. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

During the initial investigation, deputies learned that a physical altercation occurred between the three involved individuals prior to the stabbing. One of the suspects was observed displaying behavior consistent with gang affiliation shortly before the incident. Deputies, assisted by a Sheriff’s ASTREA Helicopter and Sheriff’s K-9 units, conducted a thorough search of the area. However, the suspects were not found.

Investigators later determined the victim in the April 14 incident is also a person of interest in one of the stabbing cases from April 11.

Detectives have obtained descriptions of five suspects across all three incidents and continue to pursue investigative leads.

At this time, the suspects in these incidents remain outstanding. It is unknown whether the cases are connected. However, they appear to be isolated incidents.

Investigators do not believe there is an ongoing threat to the public.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Office does not tolerate acts of violence and is utilizing all available resources to identify and arrest those responsible for these incidents.

In response to recent events, deputies from the Imperial Beach Sheriff's Substation will be conducting extra patrols in the community in the coming days. Ensuring the safety of our residents remains our highest priority.
