Homicide in Lemon Grove 

April 24, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at approximately 4:05 a.m., deputies from the Lemon Grove and Rancho San Diego Sheriff’s Stations responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon involving a firearm in the 2100 block of Eldora Street in Lemon Grove.

Upon arrival, deputies located an adult male in the driveway of the residence. He was detained without incident. Deputies then entered the home and discovered an adult victim suffering from significant traumatic injuries. Lifesaving measures were initiated, and paramedics were requested. Despite these efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The identity of the decedent is being withheld pending confirmation and notification of next of kin.

The detained individual has been identified as 33‑year‑old Eric Nunez of Lemon Grove.  Mr. Nunez was arrested for murder and booked into the San Diego Central Jail.

The circumstances and motive surrounding the incident remain under investigation. Based on information gathered thus far, this appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no known threat to the community.
