Suspect Arrested for Sexual Assault
April 25, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that in January 2026, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force initiated an investigation into allegations of sexual assault involving an on-duty CAL FIRE firefighter-paramedic identified as David Renteria, a 51-year-old resident of Placentia. During the investigation, deputies identified two victims who reported being sexually assaulted by Renteria. CAL FIRE is aware of the allegations and are cooperating with the investigation.
On April 24, 2026, with the assistance of the Riverside County Regional Gang Task Force, a search warrant was served in the 1000 block of Magnolia Avenue, Placentia. During the service of the search warrant, Renteria was taken into custody without incident.
Renteria was later booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center for false imprisonment, assault with a deadly weapon, rape by force or fear, sexual penetration by force or fear, and multiple felony sexual assault charges.
This is an ongoing investigation, and no further details are available at this time.

The RCAHT Task Force is a collaborative effort comprised of personnel from the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Bureau of Investigations, the Department of Social Services, Welfare Fraud Investigations and Riverside County Probation. The task force maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward human trafficking and sexual offenses.
