Hit-and-Run Leaves Person Injured
April 28, 2026 – Los Angeles, CA – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that Central Traffic Division Detectives (CTD) are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision that injured a woman in her 50’s.
On March 18, 2026, around 7:50 p.m., a dark-colored vehicle was traveling northbound on Witmer Street when it crashed into the victim, who was walking westbound across Shatto Street in a marked crosswalk. The driver of the vehicle failed to stop, render aid, and remain at scene, as required by law and fled in an unknown direction.
The Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene and provided first aid medical treatment to the victim.
The public is also reminded that as pedestrians, they should exercise caution when crossing streets, obey traffic lights, cross within marked crosswalks, and obey the rules of the road.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
