Hit-and-Run Leaves 2 Dead, 2 Others Injured
May 5, 2026 – Los Angeles Police Department officials report that West Traffic Division detectives are
investigating a hit-and-run traffic collision that killed 2 people and left 2 more injured.
On May 3, 2026, at approximately 4:34 a.m., a white Jeep Cherokee traveling southbound on Vista Del Mar Avenue crossed over into the northbound lanes and collided with a blue 5-series BMW that was traveling northbound Vista Del Mar Avenue. The driver of the white Jeep Cherokee abandoned the vehicle at scene and fled the location on foot without stopping to identify themselves or render aid as required by law.
The Los Angeles Fire Department’s paramedics responded and pronounced one occupant of the BMW deceased at scene. The other 3 occupants of the BMW were transported to a local hospital, where one was later pronounced deceased, and one is listed in critical condition.
The victims’ identities are being withheld pending notification of the next of kin.
Drivers are reminded that if they become involved in a collision, they should pull over and stop as soon as it is safe to do so, notify emergency services, and remain at the scene to identify themselves.
