May 14, 2026 – San Diego Police Department officials report that this past week, SDPD arrested a 16-year-old with a loaded firearm on a school campus for multiple gun violations.

Our Ghost Gun Apprehension Team learned that a 16-year-old was supplying firearms and was involved in a recent robbery at a trolley station. Using this information, our teams obtained a warrant and coordinated with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, District Attorney’s Office, and San Diego Unified School District Police to arrest the teen for several gun violations.

The teen was arrested on May 6 at school with a loaded handgun concealed in his pants. He was charged with carrying a concealed firearm on campus. There were no other crimes or violence on campus related to the kid.

During a follow-up search, SDPD’s Ghost Gun Team recovered a 3D printer, carbon filament, 3D printed machine gun conversion devices, four 3D printed handgun frames, over a hundred rounds of ammunition in various calibers, handgun magazine and slide from the 16-year-old’s home.

The 16-year-old was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility on multiple charges including robbery, illegal gun possession, and gun manufacturing.

The San Diego Police Department is committed to reducing gun violence and illegal ghost guns in our communities.
