Off-Duty Deputy Arrested for DUI 

May 14, 2026 – Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on May 12, 2026, at about 4:15 p.m., a deputy with the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a vehicle collision near the intersection of Douglas Road and Sunrise Boulevard in Rancho Cordova. The deputy was arrested by the Rancho Cordova Police Department for suspicion of drunk driving.

The deputy was driving an unmarked County vehicle but was not on duty, in uniform, or working in any capacity. The deputy has been placed on administrative leave pending a thorough internal and criminal investigation.
