May 16, 2026 – Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department officials report that the Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death investigation of a 64-year-old Black female adult, who was stabbed and succumbed to her injuries.
The incident was reported Thursday, May 14, 2026, at approximately 8:26 p.m. on the 2600 block of West Avenue N-8 in Palmdale.
During the course of the investigation, Homicide Investigators were able to positively identify the suspect who committed the murder, as a relative of the victim. Brandon Tyrell Simmons is a named suspect who was seen leaving the location on foot. Suspect Simmons is described as a 33-year-old Black male adult, approximately 5’9”, 180 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray shorts with white crew neck socks (blue/red stripes).
Suspect Brandon Tyrell Simmons has a warrant in the system for murder. He also has a history of mental health issues and should be considered armed and dangerous.
