Death Investigation in Fallbrook 

May 19, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at approximately 8:05 p.m., deputies from the Fallbrook Sheriff’s Substation responded to an incomplete 911 call in the 300 block of Woodcrest Lane in Fallbrook. Upon entering the residence, deputies located two individuals with visible traumatic injuries.

Both individuals were transported to a local hospital for treatment. One of the individuals was later pronounced deceased. The second individual is expected to survive.

Due to the circumstances of the incident, the Sheriff’s Homicide Unit responded and has assumed responsibility for the investigation. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation remains ongoing.

At this stage of the investigation, there is no known threat to the community.
