May 28, 2026 – Monterey Police Department officials report that on May 26, 2026, at approximately 8:51 A.M., Monterey Police Officers served a search warrant at a residence in the 600 block of Larkin Street. Upon searching the residence, officers located methamphetamine, fentanyl, a loaded handgun, metal knuckles, and drug paraphernalia. The following arrests were made.

Gary Hunt, 43 years old, was arrested for 29800(a)(1) PC – felon in possession of a firearm, 11395(b)(1) HS – treatment mandated felony, 11350 HS – possession of fentanyl, 11377 HS – possession of methamphetamine, 11364 HS – possession of drug paraphernalia, 21810 PC – possession of metal knuckles, 21510 PC – possession of a switchblade knife. Hunt was booked into Monterey County Jail and held without bail.

Ian Van Dyke, 40 years old, was arrested for 11395(b)(1) HS – treatment-mandated felony, 11350 HS – possession of fentanyl, 11377 HS – possession of methamphetamine, 135 PC – attempting to destroy evidence, and 1203.2 PC – probation violation. Van Dyke was booked into Monterey County Jail and held without bail.

David Johnson, 62 years old, was arrested for 11550 HS – under the influence of narcotics. Johnson was booked into the Monterey City Jail with bail set at $3,500.
