June 11, 2026 – Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on June 9, 2026, at about 1:30 a.m., the Communications Center received a call simply saying someone was shot inside the lobby of the Motel 6 located at 7407 Elsie Ave. Deputies responded and located a 21-year-old male in the lobby of the business with an apparent gunshot wound.

Deputies immediately began performing life-saving measures on the victim and requested the Fire Department. Fire arrived on scene, and the victim was pronounced deceased. The suspect fled the scene before deputies arrived. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) are currently on scene.
