Gun Safety Event in Encinitas 

June 29, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that they are partnering with the San Diego County District Attorney's Office, Carlsbad Police Department and Oceanside Police Department to get unwanted guns off our streets. 

Join us for a Gun Safety Event on:

Saturday, July 18
9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Encinitas City Hall
505 South Vulcan Avenue, Encinitas

Turn in your unwanted gun and receive a gift card ($100 for handguns, rifles and shotguns and $200 for assault weapons and ghost guns). Remain anonymous. No questions asked.

Free firearm trigger locks will also be available while supplies last.  

Firearms must be in working order.

Place the unloaded firearm in the trunk of your vehicle.

A deputy or officer will provide instructions.

All weapons collected will be destroyed.
