Homicide Investigation
June 29, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, June 28, 2026, at
12:08 a.m., deputies from the Thermal Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 98000 block of Surfside Avenue, in the unincorporated community of Riverside County known as North Shore, regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies located two adult males suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Deputies provided medical aid until paramedics arrived. The 43-year-old male was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The 44-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene.
During the investigation, homicide investigators identified the decedent as 44-year-old Alberto Padron, a resident of Mecca. No further information will be released at this time.
The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit responded and assumed the investigation. No arrests have been made at this time. Homicide investigators are actively pursuing leads to identify and apprehend the suspect(s).
