Drowning Victim Recovered from Yuba River 

June 29, 2026 – Yuba County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Friday, June 26, 2026, at approximately 12:20 p.m., the Yuba County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible drowning in the Yuba River just upstream from the Simpson Lane Bridge. Linda and Marysville Fire personnel as well as Yuba County deputies responded and located witnesses who reported a possible drowning.

After a brief search, fire personnel located a male in approximately 10 feet of water. They were able to remove him from the water and begin life-saving measures. Ultimately the subject, who is a 34-year-old male from Olivehurst, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Identification of the victim is pending notification of next of kin.
