San Diego County Sheriff Issues Statement on Deputy's Sentencing
July 9, 2026 – The San Diego County Sheriff's Office is aware that former Sheriff's Deputy Jeremiah Flores
was sentenced in federal court on Tuesday. His actions do not reflect the values of our organization.
As a result of an internal administrative investigation, Flores' employment with the Sheriff's Office was terminated on June 9, 2026. Our agency does not tolerate the use of excessive force or lying by deputies. Any Sheriff's employee who violates the law or policy will be held accountable.
