Fatal Collision in Encinitas 

July 12, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian near the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte in Encinitas is under investigation. 

On Friday, July 10th, at approximately 7:16 p.m. Deputies with the North Coastal Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian in the 2700 block of El Camino Del Norte.

Preliminary information indicates that a male driving a 2025 Nissan Z was traveling westbound on El Camino Del Norte.  At the same time, a female was walking across El Camino Del Norte.  The vehicle and pedestrian collided in the roadway, and the pedestrian succumbed to her injuries on scene. 

The driver of the Nissan remained on scene and was uninjured following the collision.

The use of alcohol or drugs is not believed to be a factor in this ongoing investigation.
