July 16, 2026 – Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department officials report that the Homicide Bureau, and Lanai Dees’s family are urgently seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons responsible for her murder, who was tragically killed on November 17th, 2024, in Los Angeles.

On Sunday, November 17, 2024, at approximately 12:40 a.m., 21-year-old Lanai Dees was fatally shot while driving near the 2000 block of West Century Boulevard in the city of Los Angeles. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, and the suspect(s) fled the area before deputies arrived. Sheriff's Homicide Bureau detectives continue to actively investigate the case and are seeking the public's assistance in identifying those responsible.
