Shooting in Spring Valley 

July 19, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff's Office officials report that on July 17, 2026, just before 12:00 a.m., deputies from the Rancho San Diego Sheriff's Station responded to a report of a shooting at a large house party in the 10000 block of Challenge Boulevard in Spring Valley. Upon arrival, deputies located an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to her ankle. According to the victim she had attended the party and witnessed a fight in the middle of the street involving other party attendees that escalated into gunfire.

The female victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for a non-life-threatening injury. The suspect or suspects fled the area before deputies arrived and have not been identified. The investigation is ongoing and there are no known threats to the community.
