Suspicious Death Investigation at Local Hospital 

July 25, 2026 – Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Sacramento County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a local area hospital regarding a suspicious death. Family members had brought in a 66-year-old female for being unresponsive. After a cursory examination of the body, medical staff deemed the death suspicious and potentially not of natural causes. Sheriff’s Deputies requested detectives from the Homicide Bureau to respond.

Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to the hospital, as well as the residence where the decedent lived with family. They are currently interviewing witnesses and gathering evidence. No further information on the incident or suspect information is available at this time.

The investigation into this incident is still active and ongoing. The Sacramento County Coroner’s Office will make identification of the deceased in accordance with their protocols.
