Serious Injury Traffic Collision in Santee
August 23, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Tuesday, August 18th, 2026, at
approximately 10:34 a.m., deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, Santee Station responded to multiple 9-11 calls reporting a traffic collision in the 7900 block of Poplin Drive in the City of Santee.
Upon arrival, deputies located the pedestrian who had become trapped between two vehicles and was suffering from severe injuries. Deputies immediately provided first aid and applied a tourniquet to control significant bleeding while awaiting paramedics arrival. The pedestrian sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported by ambulance to a local trauma center for further medical treatment. The driver of the other vehicle remained on scene, cooperated with deputies, and was evaluated by emergency medical personnel.
At this time, drugs and/or alcohol are not suspected to be contributing factors in the collision.
