Fallbrook - Man Arrested for Assault with a Chainsaw
September 2, 2026 – San Diego County Sheriff’s Office officials report that with the assistance of the San Diego County
Fugitive Task Force, the suspect associated with an assault in Rainbow using a chainsaw has been arrested.
On Monday morning, August 31, 2026, Gregory Texeira (66), the suspect in a chainsaw assault stemming from a recent dispute, voluntarily surrendered to San Diego County Sheriff’s detectives at the Fallbrook Sheriff Substation.
Investigators say Texeira was cooperative throughout the investigation, providing detectives with a statement and potential evidence related to the case. He was subsequently arrested and booked on suspicion of multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, criminal threats, and mayhem.
Texeira was transported to the Vista Detention Facility, where he was booked into custody without incident.
