Homicide Investigation
September 13, 2026 – Riverside County Sheriff’s Office officials report that on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at 4:29 p.m.,
deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the 33000 block of Hidden Hollow Drive, in Wildomar, regarding a suspicious death investigation. Deputies were called to the location after Sheriff’s Coroner personnel reported suspicious factors in the death of 74-year-old Bonnie Thompson, a resident of Wildomar. Deputies and station investigators responded and conducted an initial investigation. The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Central Homicide Unit reviewed further information and evidence and assumed the investigation.
During the investigation, Thompson’s son, 52-year-old Justin Tyler Scott, also a resident of Wildomar, was identified as the suspect. On September 11, 2026, Scott was taken into custody and subsequently booked into the Cois Byrd Detention Center for murder and elder abuse.
This case is active and ongoing, and no further information will be released at this time.
