July 26, 2021 -  The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire in Butte and Plumas Counties for Monday.

Fire: The Fly Fire and the Dixie Fire have burned together. Fire behavior was active to extreme Sunday. This is expected to continue for the short term.

Smoke: There is not enough air movement expected to bring significant relief from smoke to the Eastern Sierra today. Mountain communities East of the Sierra crest should expect very unhealthy air quality. This is definitely the case for those locations closest to the fire- Quincy, Lake Almanor area, and the US395 corridor from Susanville to Doyle. Details of smoke conditions for the forecast area are listed below. Reno/Tahoe area forecast is available here (https://fires.airfire.org/outlooks/Humboldt-ToiyabeNF)

Health and Safety:
Remember that when smoke reaches Very Unhealthy levels, everyone should avoid prolonged or heavy exertion. Drive with headlights on in reduced visibility conditions. If you have air conditioning, keep windows and doors closed as much as possible.
