July 31, 2021 - The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Tamarack Fire in Alpine County for Saturday-Sunday.
Fire: The Tamarack Fire remains 68,696 acres with 79% containment, an increase of 14% compared to yesterday. Fire activity today is expected to be low with minimal fire spread.
Smoke: Reduced Dixie Fire activity yesterday led to improved air quality across the area compared to previous days. Light to moderate smoke from the Dixie Fire will continue to impact the area at times, especially the Reno, Tahoe, Fernley, and Fallon areas. Smoke impacts from the Tamarack Fire will be limited to those communities near the fire, with continued light to moderate smoke in the Woodfords and Markleeville areas, especially overnight through mid-morning.
