August 2, 2021 - The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Tamarack Fire in Alpine County for Monday-Tuesday.
Fire: The Tamarack Fire remains 68,696 acres with 82% containment. Fire activity today is expected to be low with minimal fire spread.
Smoke: Expect slightly improved air quality today and tomorrow compared to yesterday. Light to moderate smoke from the Dixie Fire will continue to impact the area at times, especially during the night and morning hours in the Reno, Tahoe, Fernley, and Fallon areas. Smoke impacts from the Tamarack Fire will be limited to those communities near the fire, with continued light smoke in the Woodfords and Markleeville areas, especially in the morning. Stronger SW winds starting tomorrow afternoon will help improve air quality conditions across the area.
