August 2, 2021 - The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire in Butte and Plumas Counties for Monday.
Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 248,820 acres with 35% containment.
Smoke: Winds near the fire are forecast to come from the Southwest. Mountain communities North of the fire will see smoke again today. Chester - Westwood - Susanville and the Lake Almanor area may reach unhealthy levels. Areas west and east of the Sierra should see good and moderate conditions.

Smoke contains microscopic solids and liquid droplets that are so small that they can cause serious health problems. Some particles less than 10 micrometers in diameter can get deep into your lungs and some may even get into your bloodstream. Of these, particles less than 2.5 micrometers in diameter, also known as fine particles or PM2.5, pose the greatest risk to health. This Smoke Outlook reflects 24-hour fine particulate matter impacts on air quality. Air quality may change unexpectedly.
