August 4, 2021 -  The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Tamarack Fire in Alpine County for Wednesday-Thursday.

Special Statement: This will be the final Smoke Outlook issued for the Tamarack Fire. Starting tomorrow, August 5, two Smoke Outlooks will be produced for the Dixie Fire - one for the Eastern Sierra area and one for this area (Humboldt-Toiyabe NF).

Fire:
The Tamarack Fire remains 68,696 acres with 82% containment. Fire activity today is expected to be low with minimal fire spread.

Smoke: Expect similar conditions today compared to yesterday. While Dixie Fire activity increased yesterday, moderately strong S-SW winds will continue to keep the heaviest smoke to the north and west of the Outlook Area. Light smoke from the Dixie Fire will continue to impact the area at times, especially during the night and morning hours. Moderate smoke may move back into much of the Outlook Area tomorrow night. Smoke impacts from the Tamarack Fire will be limited to those communities near the fire, with continued light smoke in the Woodfords and Markleeville areas, especially in the morning.
