August 11, 2021 - The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office and their staff are assisting and caring for animals in areas impacted by the Dixie Fire. Large animals are being taken to the Plumas County Fairgrounds where they can be temporarily sheltered.
The Plumas County Sheriff’s Office oversees the Plumas County Animal Shelter.

In the video above, Officer Saez tells us how deputies assigned to security in the closed communities of the Dixie Fire area are helping with feeding and watering the small animals like dogs and cats who are sheltering in place.
