August 13, 2021 - The US Interagency Wildland Fire Air Quality Response Program Smoke Outlook for the Dixie Fire for Friday.
Fire: The Dixie Fire is now 515,756 acres, an increase of 5,529 acres with 31% Contained. Areas on the West Zone expanded significantly to the east and to the west. The eastern portion of the East Zone expanded to the east. Expecting more thunderstorm activity today. Potential for large fire growth with winds from the thunderstorms
Smoke: With the West Zone expanding in fire perimeter and active burning, expect to see poorer air quality close to the fire perimeter. In areas away from the fire, there may not be as much impact. Air quality in the Central Valley locations should be good to moderate with possible overnight concentrations increasing for several hours at a time.
Health and Safety:
