Other News:

Will emergency alert notifications go through when cell service is spotty? Understandably, we've been getting a lot of these questions today.

The Sheriff's Office uses a combination of CodeRED, WEAs, and EAS messaging to alert the public during an emergency. Emergency alert messages are prioritized over other communications when signals are weak, and they are set to redial or resend for a specified period of time until they go through. If you are not receiving CodeRED alerts, it may be that your phone is recognizing the call as spam and blocking it. You can resolve this issue by adding the phone numbers as contacts in your phone. They are (866)419-5000 and (855)969-4636. You do not need to register for WEA or EAS alerts. For information on how to enable WEA and EAS messages (reverse 911 calls) if you are not getting them, go to https://www.ready.gov/alerts
